View from below. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I wasn't in the mood of taking nicely lit pictures.. :P The speakers are attached to the stands with double sided tape. Didn't want to drill holes to brand new speakers.

Finished product.

edit 12.4; some better pictures. The bricks dried a bit so I added leather protection, now they're really finished.

14.04.2009 18:28 jaeaeAgain here the sturdy "mounting" of the speakers improved the bass response. When the speakers were on the plastic cups (that temporary setup) the bass was a bit sluggish.
14.04.2009 18:24 jaeaeFunnily enough, I'm starting to believe that speaker spikes can really improve sound, especially the bass. My previous speakers had so sharp spikes, that they were practically nailed to the wooden table :)
14.04.2009 18:21 jaeaeNah, I did wear some kind of protection. Earplugs. :D
14.04.2009 17:18 alfonsI prefer normal clay bricks, concrete/leca is bit too gray. ps please use socks when drilling :)
12.04.2009 12:20 laurilrYep I can see those also. Speaker stands looks actually pretty good :)
12.04.2009 12:20 BenaHNo, you're not the only one.
12.04.2009 12:04 jaeaehmmh, am I the only one getting/seeing those backward slashes? "they\'re"?
09.04.2009 22:03 jaeaeI got today some brown leather, maybe I'll cut that in shape and glue it on
09.04.2009 15:23 OzzkuuMaybe some old mousepads cutted in shape and glued to bottom to prevent any scratches to table?
08.04.2009 18:52 jaeaeMaxxta: well I think I'm not going to paint those. When I visited some brick-shops there were so many colours and sizes and shapes available that I thought it was just easiest to choose a brick that looks like a brick :D So gray concrete it is then.
08.04.2009 15:55 jaeaearttu: 15,99 each, so not ultimately cheap but at least they're quite strong.
08.04.2009 15:37 MaxxtaReally nice idea. Have you thought of painting the bricks black or maybe some dark grey color?
08.04.2009 15:05 JipaNice idea :) I personally have never really felt like my speakers needed much adjustments, so the tv-stand seems a bit useless, but that's just me.
08.04.2009 15:00 arttu666What did those tv stads cost?
08.04.2009 10:29 jaeaeYep I'm going to :D Thing is, that those bricks were a bit damp so I put some paper to temporarily protect the desk.
08.04.2009 08:15 Mikko888Agreed whit Jiikax.
08.04.2009 07:09 JiikaxPut some cushion under those bricks, so u dont have to use paper. Would look much better ;D
