This was a quick project for a friend. He came to visit, and we designed and built the case in a weekend. He had wanted to build a computer in a briefcase, but after trying the parts in the briefcase, we decided to build the case from scratch. ![]() Here is the basic construction. Frame is made of 15mm and 20mm aluminum L-profile and 1,5mm anodized aluminum plate. The motherboard rack is from an old atx-case. ![]() Sidepanels are also of the same aluminum plate, and they are covered with black fake leather, with plastic foam stuck in beetween. The panel is squeezed with clamps during gluing, so the leather will turn out nice and tight. ![]() ![]() The other sidepanel with a fanhole was a bit trickier. ![]() White (real) leather was used for effects on the top and front plates. Here´s some needlework. ![]() ![]() ![]() White leather has a nice texture. Since the goal of the project was to make a portable LANcase, a handle was needed. ![]() Some foam, leather and more needlework :) ![]() Partly assembled to try out the looks. ![]() Since the psu is located on the front, and we didn´t want any wires to stick out of the front plate, the psu needed a little modding. ![]() Feet for the case were made out of aluminum and rubber sticker pads. ![]() ![]() The front plate was ugly, so we decided to make a door. The door is 10mm apart from the front plate, so the power supply can exhaust its hot air properly. ![]() Power and HDD led's light were brought trough the door via bolts. I drilled holes on the bolts, and filled them with hot glue. ![]() ![]() Some posing ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Remove this ad by registering or by logging in.
